Martha says:
Israeli choreographer Ohad Naharin has been infecting the world with ground-breaking dance for decades. If you missed the Young Ensemble of his Batsheva Dance Company at Jacob’s Pillow last week, you still have another chance: they’re coming to the Joyce Theater for a two-week run of the Bessie Award-winning “Naharin’s Virus.” The work, created in collaboration with Batsheva’s dancers, bubbles with the powerful Gaga movement vocabulary that is the choreographer’s invention and trademark. The show is based on Austrian playwright Peter Handke’s “Offending the Audience” (something that Naharin does not shy away from either). The young company is made up of exceptional dancers, early in their careers, who are learning the ropes from a global master. Opens Tuesday, July 10 at 7:30 pm.
